How to crochet a Treble Cross Stitch (K-Stitch)
Treble Cross Stitch, as its name implies, has the appearance of a cross. This stitch is also called K-Stitch. The crossed stitches often make with one yarn over. And so, the photos below show step by step how to make a treble cross stitch. The treble cross stitch (k-stitch) is indicated with the following chart symbol:
At the beginning of the row we need to make 4 turning chains. Then, make two yarn over (yo), insert your hook into the fifth off the hook loop (the loop on the hook is not counted), grab the working yarn and pull the loop. Now there are four loops on the hook:
Again grab the working yarn and pull it through two loops. We have 3 loops on the hook.
Make the yarn over, skip one loop and insert the hook into the next loop. Grab the working yarn and pull the loop. And now there are five loops on the hook.
Next, catch the yarn with hook and pull it through two loops on the hook. Four loops left on the hook.
Once again, grab the working yarn pull it through two loops on the hook. Now there are three loops on the hook, a "legs" of stitch converged in one point.
Again, catch the yarn with hook and pull it through two loops on the hook. There are two loops on the hook.
Once again, grab the working yarn pull it through two loops on the hook. Now we have one loop on the hook. We made the right "hand" of stitch.
Now make one chain stitch. In our example, between "legs" and "hands" there is by one loop. If you want to "feet", and "hands" were set wider, you can do by two loops. After this, make yarn over, insert the hook into the join between the "legs" of the stitch. We have four loops on the hook.
Again grab the working yarn pull it through two loops on the hook. Repeat this step two more times. Now there is one loop on the hook.
The completed the Treble Cross Stitch (K-Stitch) looks like this:
