Multicolor Crochet Stitch Pattern for Children
Charming colored pattern is perfect for baby things. Make it easy, but we use an unusual technique: in some rows, the work is not rotated, and new row begins again on the right side but using yarn of a different color. We can also crochet this pattern in round, that allows use it for crocheting hats. This pattern is double-sided. In the description right side and wrong side marked just for convenience. The crochet chart is read differently than usual. The reading direction indicated by arrows.
The rapport of the pattern in width - 6 stitches, in height - 4 rows. For crocheting we use the yarn of two colors. For an example make chain stitches a multiple of 6, plus 2 chains for the symmetry of the pattern. Then crochet by chart:
1 row (pink), right side: 3 chains, 3 double crochet in 4th chain from hook, * skip 5 chains, [3 double crochet, 2 chains, 3 double crochet] in same chain *, skip 5 chains, 3 double crochet in same chain, 1 chain, 1 double crochet in last chain of row.
Join the yarn of a different color, turn the work.
2 row (white), wrong side: 2 turning chains, 2 chains, 1 single crochet in space under chain of previous row, 2 chains, [1 double crochet, picot of three chains, 1 double crochet] in space between two bundle of stitches of previous row, 2 chains, * [1 single crochet, 3 chains, 1 single crochet] in space under two chains of previous row, 2 chains, [1 double crochet, picot of three chains, 1 double crochet] in space between two bundle of stitches of previous row, 2 chains *, 1 single crochet in space under last chain of previous row, 2 chains, 1 double crochet in turning chain of previous row.
Do not turn the work, use the pink yarn and work from the other end.
3 row (pink), wrong side: join the pink yarn to turning chain of previous row with slip stitch, 2 turning chains, 1 chain, 3 double crochet in space under two chains, * [3 double crochet, 2 chains, 3 double crochet] in space under three chains of previous row *, 3 double crochet in space under two chains, 1 chain, 1 extended single crochet in turning chain of previous row.
Turn the work.
4 row (white), right side: crochet same as 2nd row.
Do not turn the work, use the pink yarn and work from the other end.
5 row (pink), right side: crochet same as 3rd row.
Then from 2nd row to 5th row (the rapport in height) the pattern repeats.
