How to make a crochet slip knot

The slip knot need in order to attach the yarn on a crochet hook. By the way, in Russia the "slip knot" is called a "starting loop". There are several ways to make the slip knot. Let's examine two the most easy ways.

Method 1 to make a slip knot

Put the yarn on the index finger of the left hand and insert the crochet hook under the yarn.

Turn the hook clockwise to get a loop.

Hold this loop with a left thumb and pull the working yarn through this loop.

Hold the free tail of the yarn then tighten slip knot and adjust a value of the loop.

Crochet Slip Knot must be tightened enough loose to continue crocheting.

Method 2 to make a slip knot

If you can already to knit with needles, possible, you will find this way convenient for you to make the slip knot. It is done same as in the classical cast on with needles, but instead the needles use the crochet hook and make one loop.
